How it Works

1

We assess your dog's needs

We start with your dog's physiology, not preferences. Small-breed dogs metabolize differently, meaning our formulation decisions must begin there. We consider size, age, activity level, and digestive sensitivity.

2

We build a calibrated plan

We translate your dog’s needs into a feeding plan grounded in clinical nutrition standards. We map nutrient ratios and portions to support balanced nutrition, digestive stability, and sustained energy.

3

Your dog receives precision nutrition in every meal

Every meal is prepared under strict protocols. We use measured inputs, controlled cooking, and batch-level nutrient verification to ensure that what we formulated is exactly what gets delivered each time.

Verified nutrient content in every meal

We validate every recipe at the finished-food level, using laboratory testing to confirm vitamin and mineral targets are repeatedly met—not just assumed.

Batch-level testing against AAFCO standards

Every batch we produce is tested against AAFCO vitamin and mineral requirements, ensuring a consistent nutritional profile despite natural variation in sourcing, seasonality, and raw material composition.

End-to-end veterinary nutritionist oversight

Our formulation development and review are led by a board-certified veterinary nutritionist (ECVCN), ensuring that each decision is guided by established clinical nutrition principles.

Designed for small-breed physiology

Small breeds don’t just eat less, they metabolize differently—our recipes are engineered for their faster digestive transit, higher stool variability, and greater nutrient sensitivity.

Responsible sourcing and packaging

We responsibly source our ingredients and select our packaging to balance food safety, nutritional protection, and environmental impact without compromising formulation integrity.

Clinically evaluated in Cornell University-led research

Our formulation underwent an eight-week preclinical feeding evaluation at Cornell University to understand how our formulation interacts with digestion, metabolism, and physiological markers in adult dogs.

Digestive tolerance and stool quality

Daily fecal scoring conducted using the Purina 1–7 scale. Consistency and gastrointestinal tolerance tracked across the full eight-week period.

Palatability and consumption

Food acceptance measured twice daily. Monitored both immediate intake and total consumption to assess real-world feeding behavior.

Body weight and condition

Weekly assessments of body weight, body condition (AAHA 9-point scale), and muscle condition (WSAVA) completed. All evaluations conducted by veterinary staff blinded to diet group.

Clinical pathology and biomarkers

Bloodwork performed at study start and conclusion. Complete blood count, chemistry panel, CRP, fructosamine, and serum IL-6 were measured.

Skin, coat, and oral health

Skin, coat, oral health, and aural cytology evaluated at multiple timepoints. Standardized veterinary scoring systems used for objectivity.

Research oversight and compliance

Conducted under an approved IACUC protocol at Cornell's AAALAC-accredited Preclinical Services Core. Full compliance with animal welfare and research standards.

Research disclaimer

IACUC (Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee) is the oversight body responsible for reviewing and approving research protocols involving animals. AAALAC (Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care) is an independent organization that accredits institutions meeting the highest standards of animal care and welfare in research settings.
